Best replacement fuel pump, sock, gas gauge potentiometer source & manufacturer?

‘Greetings all,

'88 IROC 5 spd vert, 99K miles.

Just checked my INLET fuel press, 7 lbs at surging idle cold, 6 lbs when slightly winging the throttle.
Recent new O2 sensor with the install of Hooker 2055’s & Aerochamber exhaust, replaced crusty 33 year old EGR valve due to a code 32, fuel filter 3 yrs old. Chronic hot restart issues also, & acts like it’s flooded?
Supposed to be 11-13 lbs, right?

So, can any of you TBI gurus recommend a good manufacturer & source for a complete fuel pump, sock, & gas gauge potentiometer assembly?
Thanks!

Spectra makes a decent replacement sending unit. For a pump, any reputable parts place will have what you need. There is another thread on this exact subject. Might want to check out the responses there too.

How do you know that the pump is the problem? If the wire harness and/or associated components were faulty, low voltage/low amperage to the pump would also cause low fuel pressure. A partially-plugged fuel filter would also reduce fuel pressure.

I won't replace a fuel pump without testing amperage draw, and testing voltage and ground as close to the pump as practical. It's worth verifying. The pump is most likely the actual problem--but not at all guaranteed.

Schurkey,
Point taken. Butt, if I’m to get close enough to the pump to put my dc amprobe on the pump leads on the top of the tank by dropping it, knowing it’s 33 yrs old, I’ll just put everything new in.
Correction, the fuel filter is 3 months old.
Love 3rd gens, but what a insidious fuel pump replacement procedure instead of a access panel like other vehicles.

That's because the access would be in the passenger compartment in the crumple zone, it's a safety issue. Plus it was the early 80's, that really wasn't a thing yet

AMPERAGE readings are the same anywhere in the circuit.
VOLTAGE readings need to be taken as close to the load as possible. Going to the rearmost connector beside the tank is generally sufficient.

While you're in there, don't forget to replace the in-tank wire harness.
