1995 GMC Yukon 350 tbi heads (193 casting)

I just decided to go with a set of 193 heads in the 350 I’m building. Will these work on this block casting number 14093638. Im pretty sure I already pulled them from the junkyard and they look in good with no sludge under the valve covers and no chewed burned valves. I would grab appreciate some help!!

Re: 1995 GMC Yukon 350 tbi heads (193 casting)

Pretty-much any small-block Chevy head can be bolted to pretty-much any small-block Chevy; with the notable exceptions of the reverse-cooled "LT1" series of the middle-1990s. Bigger valves may not clear the smaller bores, and there's some minor cooling system issues with Vortec heads with non-Vortec water pumps; and some Vortec blocks with non-Vortec heads. Heads used with the 400 blocks should be drilled for "steam holes". Older heads don't have the bolt holes on the ends to support accessory brackets. But except for the LT1s, the incompatibility issues are pretty minor and relatively easy to deal with.

The Swirl-port heads will drop right onto any non-LT1 block assuming the bore size will clear the valves, which won't be a problem with the 4" bore of the 350 block. You'll need self-guiding rocker arms. IF (big IF) you are using the OEM TBI intake manifold, you'll need the special TBI intake gasket set, that restricts the coolant passage at the rear of the cylinder head. If you're not using the original TBI intake manifold, you'd use whatever gaskets are recommended for that intake.

Note that the swirl-port TBI heads are terrible for "performance" use. Not really recommended unless you can't afford anything else. I've got a swirl-port head bolted to the back of my riding lawnmower, as a traction weight when I push the snow-plow attachment.
