Couple Questions
Couple Questions
Hey everyone, I was just wondering what would be a good fuel pressure to start out with the mods I have in my signature. I am running around 8 psi now, but I think that is too lean. After I added my open air element, it feels like I have no power after 2500 RPM. I almost feel as if the open element has made me lose top end, when it should have done the opposite. Just wondering because my car almost feels stock now, and it shouldn't. Also, how much hp, would SLP headers/y-pipe, and an LT1 cam give me. My friend, just bought a stock LT1 and he can blow me away right now. Just wondering if those two things would put me near him. Thankx.
try movign you fp up to about 10 and mess with it from there if it still feels off.
as for the cam and the exhaust, i don't think anyone has before and after dyno's yet, but it should be worth 40-75 at the wheels depending on how your tuning turns out and your heads.

And one more question...when you swap to 3.43 or 3.73 gears how hard is it to keep traction? I have 2.73 now, and have basically no traction problems, except when the roads are wet. Also, is an aluminum driveshaft, or carbon fiber driveshaft going to give you that much more RWHP. I've seen a couple places that recomend changing it, but for 200+ dollars is it really worth it? Also, after I do my cam swap to an LT1, should I raise my redline. 5000 rpm, seems a little low, if my peak horsepower will be right in that range. Any input would be nice.

Go with the Zexel OEM Posi from SLP with your gears and you will maintain your traction.

It's a great unit and only $100. The 3.42 gears will give a GREAT sotp performance.
Only raise your redline if you change your whimpy valve springs and seals with the cam swap then you should be able to push 6000 rpm.
