injector spacers. how did you make yours?
injector spacers. how did you make yours?
what would be something good to use to make an injector spacer. how thick would be optimal? the ones they sell ar only 1/4 inch thick and only claim a 2-3 hp gain. would bigger be much better? especially along w/ an open air cleaner.

most are made out of hard plastic or just sticking a couple gaskets together most are about .25" thick

I just had to space the TBI Unit on my 350 1988 IROC and I STRONGLY suggest doing it right and NOT just stacking a buncha gaskets together. I got a sheet 1/4in thick of teflon and used the gasket as a template and it works great. Its also a lot more reliable and resilient than a gasket, which will settle over time. Hope this helps

Since that is not a surface that has to be sealed (fuel lines go into the injector pod itself) I just removed the gasket and used washers to space out the pod from the TB until the fuel adaptors on the pod where about to interfere with the TB unit. I would attach a pic but I don’t have my dc right now.

The two gaskets together are about 1/4" high. I got one from a tbi gasket kit I bought at autozone for $15 and I reused the original one since it was in great shape.
94'_SS , you better look again at the injector pod not needing to be sealed at the throttle body. Just raising it with washers will let in a lot of unfiltered air. This area will draw more air per square inch than the best, lowest restriction, air cleaner on the market. You might want to just stack the gaskets or make one. You could even use wood, the harder the better. If you do use wood it would be a good idea to use some model airplane shelack or dope as they call it. The stuff thats fuel resistant. You can get it at a hobby shop, just ask for it by discription ,they know what your looking for. Just don't go in and ask to buy some dope or they may get the wrong idea.:lala:

My car felt stronger after I raised the injector pod but, I did the Ultimate TBI Mods at the same time.
