Ignition Woes
I just finished successfully putting my TBI 350 into my formerly 305 Camaro Sport Coupe and i'm really thrilled with it - thanks to everyone for their help! However, I'm now starting to wonder how many of the cars stock operating systems are holding my motor back. My first target is the ignition system - i'm thinking of a new coil and a matching ignition box (like an MSD unit). Would i be unreasonable to expect some decent benefits from something like this? Also, what can i do to modify my 305 computer? I'm running 350 injectors and everything - the only limiting factors i can think of is the weak ignition and the 305 computer ignition/fuel curves...am i on the right track? I wanna be able to goose this baby to 5500 rpm and shake imports apart - so i def. have some work to do! Thanks again!! I'mna get some pics for you guys to see asap - and i promise some stories about the reactions in school. A car with a V-8 will be unusual, a car with over 180hp will be a godsend. lol. LATER!

you need custom tuning to get the most out of your combo. i cant see a better ignition hurting performance in any way
