vortec heads and a performer intake ?

I have a 92 lo3, I'm putting a edelbrock performer intake on the car, will 305 vortec heads work with this intake or do you know any other heads that will work. Also other things I will need to buy when putting new heads on the car. Valves, pushrods, gaskets, etc. I'm stupid when it comes to heads and what to get.
I wanting assembled heads, websites would be helpful and price ranges, thanks

Edelbrock makes a performer for the vortecs so yes the intake will work. You dont need valves cause the heads will come with them, you dont need pushrods; really all you need is gaskets.

Don't you have to do some shaving to the pushrods or something, I know about the milling. Someone had a post a while back about something scraping so you had to shave them???

After Milling I think you need special gaskets in order for the Intake to line up... something about the angle changing once you mill em. Not sure, but I thought I read a post about that a while back.

Did some research, something about the Valve Guides, probably stupid question, but what are Valve Guides? This post says something about it:

Vortec Heads

I believe some Lo3 heads have self aligning rockers, ratios can be anywhere from 1.52 to 1.6 with a 1.6 rocker you need to make sure the angle to the rocker from the lifter isnt so much that the pushrod rubs the side of the head. If it has self aligners you need those rockers, or get pushrod guides.

you might try looking at some s/r torquers, you don't have to mill them, and they fit without special gaskets. and get about the same flow.

Read my sig. No milling required...just get the correct intake to begin with.

So you didn't mill the Vortecs, how much power do you loose from not milling them? I like the Idea of not milling them, then someday I can still use em on a 350.

Ok which intake is it that fits. Will the one made for the 305-350 tbi's fit or do I have to buy another one and get a tbi adapter for it ?

No milling. Power loss? Who knows..power gain it'll zip up to 130 and still be pulling.

Let's say it changed the entire way the car sounded and ran. In fact I am still tuning the chip for it. It will make good power when I'm done.

The use of them on a 350 is right on. In fact the ones I used came off my new 350 that cracked a block They will return to a 350 or larger when time and money allow.

Good luck

You have to get a Vortec specific intake and they're not that much more.

I bought a Vortec performer and made an adapter for it

I'm not having much luck finding a Vortec intake for TBI. The ones I have found are way pricey. So, if I'm going to get a carb manifold and fit it with an adapter, am I better off with a single plane or dual plane?

TBI intake but its not cheap.

Gm is the only one who makes a TBI intake for the vortec heads but it is pricey.
