drivability problem

when i start my car up cold, once in a while i give t gas and it just seems to sag... when i give it gas , the rpm's drop like the car's gonna turn off, and then they go back to normal again. this only happens once in a while, actually almost everyday it's cold outside, on the way to school. its only about a mile to my school. any ideas what this is? what to do about it?

Not on the subject, but how fast is your car??? And how much lift do you have with your cam? I see you have 2.02 and 1.6 valves...Did you do any shaving for clearance?

i shaved the heads to 58 cc's, block decked to zero clearance. i got the flat top kypereutectic pistons w/ valve reliefs and the cam is about .4 something lift... not exactly sure. i have emissions this week and after that i an getting a new intake manifold, new tbi, and a new cam with about a half inch lift. after that im dyno tuning it.

about the temperature, it doesnt even have to be very coild outside and it does it... it does it in 45-50 degrees and below.

Sounds like it's running too lean, not enough pump shot (adjusted with eprom), not enough fuel pressure, or your running too much advance timing. Try backing off the timing and see if that helps any. It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. You'd need a fuel pressure guage to tell you that.
Try adjusting the fuel pressure OR timing, do one or the other and see which makes the problem go away.
