How muck should i expect to get a posi/gears installed?
i got all the parts (differential, gears, gaskets, bearings, etc.) and was wondering how much to expect to pay to get it installed. what do u guys think?>
I saw the local papaer (recycler) had $400. That was all for GM gears with labor. But GM gears are limited by which carrier you have. Aftermarket gears have been made that don't have those limitations. That might be a bit more. You could look for a 3.42 whole rear axle from another car for very cheap.

i just wrote the check today. 87 bux. the guy installed the gears posi and shimmed it up and changed out my axle bearings. i had the install kit gears and posi. i had to pull the rearend and give it to him then put it back on but that is no big deal. i didnt even have to mess with the brakes. in fact i am about 50% done putting it back in
