Just Changed The Oil - Pics
well never has changing the oil taken this long. one more reason to not take it to a shop. i was in a hurry last time and knew of a hook-up so i took it to a shop and they decided the tighter the filter the better. this is how it looked after i got it off. i had to use 16" channel locks
that is a jiffy lube filter, i suggest you do yourself a favor and never go there again. i had a honda in the shop with a jiffy lube filter on it. they cross threaded the drain plug in the aluminum oil pan and cost the guy almost $200 for a new pan instead of $20 for his oil change

I was in a hurry last time I changed my oil and I only grabbed a 1/2" drive. Dad had the adaptor to go on the bottom of the oil filter and so I just screwed it in with that real fast. I hope I didnt put it on too tight. Oh well, it'll come out.

we used to get cars from jiffy lube after they changed it (and the customers never wanted to go back). When its that bad the easiest way to do it is with big ole' vice grips, if that doesn't work you take a long screwdriver, pound it through, and then turn, that'll get it every time...

Thats what I had to do once .... pound a 10" slotted screwdriver though cause the filter clamps i had sucked ....
on the Jiffy Lube saga. ......
Once my neighboor had a nice Datsun that he had tranny work done to it, and went the JL for oil change. The guy there comes out and starts explaining how the transmission fliud is a odd color and that it will need to be changed since it looks pretty old. MY neigboor asked to speak to a manager and flat out called his lie and made told them off. Pretty Funny .... Jiffy Lube is on my way to work and i usually see cars smoking so bad in the lot that it sometimes blinds the street.
