Milage thoughts

Well, I have been striving fer better gas milage since I bought my car over the summer. I have tried everything - but no luck. I was browsing camaroz28.com just now, and some1 there said something about no TC lock up would hurt milage - how could I tell if my converter aint locking up, and would that really affect city milage?

Shouldn't yoiu be able to test it by jumping terminals A and F on your ALDL with a circuit tester??? It will cause it to lock up in every gear but first and the light in the tester should come on... or go off (can't remember) when it locks up. Anybody else got any ideas?

One simple way is to tap the brake pedal while cruising, you should feel the converter unlock and then lock backup, you could also watch your tach.

keep a constant speed at 45 or higher and keep the gas at a constant rate keeping the speed the same and with your other foot tap the breaks and you should see your rpms raise up notifying that your tc is not locking up anymore.
