Diy Afpr

I have not read the tech article on doing the afpr lately but someone reminded me on another thread that you have to remove the reg pod to adjust the pressure the way it's done in the tech article. I don't think that's an eazy way to tune so heres what I did;

I didn't say I was a photographer so please forgive the pic quality.

1. You just drill the weld out of the hole with a "Q" size drill bit or a 11/32" bit if you don't have or can't get any letter size bits.

2. Tap the hole out to 3/8-24 thread size.

3. Next remove the screw from the spring cup and disgard it.

They should look like this now

You will need a 3/8-24 hex head bolt around 2-1/4" long. Screw the bolt in the reg housing and it should look like this.

Next clearance the casting to clear the bolt using a grinder or a file

Put it all back together and use a 9/16 wrench to adjust. It's a little tight and I cut down an old wrench to be very short. If you have small fingers you might be able to turn it with them. LOL
