ok guys im sreious. how much serious power can u get from a 305 tbi that is a street driven. im talking heads, cam, intake, exhaust mods on the motor. im not going to rip out the lower end for a 305. maybe on a 350. is it really worth the time and money or should i take it some where and have a motor swap on it. ot a 350? any help would be apprecieated.

Most people will say to drop a 350 in there, but If the 305 is still running strong I don't see why you can't do mods to this engine now that will swap to a 350 later (this is what my game plan is as I am on a serious budget until I finish college) at which time I'll have enought money to drop in a sweet MPFI supercharged 383 stroker!
1 hp per cubic inch is always a reasonably attainable goal for any motor, so seeing 305 horsepower is possible on your motor. People will argue about money-spent per HP-gained, but the fact is is up to you how much money you want to spend and how much work you're willing to put into it (or pay someone for their work).
Getting more or less than that is dependant on restrictions you set personally, like if you're willing to live without some luxuries like AC, smooth ride, quiet interior in lieu of saving weight or getting traction; whether or not you need/want emissions, cold-weather drivability, gas mileage, etc.
It's all fun regardless in my opinion.
