Yes, go rent the O2 socket it'll make the job a lot easier. I rented the tool for free from autozone, I just gave them my credit card number and when I returned the socket they didn't charge my card. I had my O2 sensor out in about 30 seconds came out just like a spark plug. It was the original O2 sensor with 80000 miles on it.

Don't try doing it 15 minutes after u have just drove ur car. I thought I would be cool and just not touch the headers or y-pipe when I was doing it....well my arm slipped and now I got a nice scare on my right arm from the burn. Oh well, its a battle wound!

EDIT: You knew that already (not to do it when its hot) but I had to tell my story. hehe

Aucutally, I did mine when the manifold was warm/hot. The metal expands when its warm so it comes out easier. Just got the socket from autozone, nice long extension, and a wrachet. 5 minute job.

Yes, warm (not hot) and use a high-temp anti-seize (or make the anti-seize is on the one you buy, which it always is...)

Do not overtorque. go to washer contact, then 1/4 turn MAX more.

I changed mine a couple weeks ago. I waited until the car cooled down to reach in and unplug the connecter. Then I attempted loosening the sensor....no go. Then I decided I should go drive around to warm up the manifolds. I also thought it would be interesting to see how the car drove with the harness unplugged. Well, it was pretty normal, actually. I guess it just ran off the tables. I did eventually get an SES light, but not right away...I went back home and it came out with a little elbow grease.
