Let's think...
On the exhaust side you can get rid of the AIR system (pump, tubes, and everything) and the cat.

On the intake side I guess EGR is it...You can block off the EGR without getting a new intake, or get an intake without EGR provision. Getting rid of the EGR will give the ECU fits, though.

removal of the catalytic convertor is the only one listed above that will gain power for you...

does pulling the EGR create problems with the computer? or does it just light up the SES light?

Yep, you can yank all that stuff off.
Trouble is you need to tell the computer that you did.
When it thinks the EGR is applied it adds extra timing and fuel. With no EGR your running too much timing and too much fuel.

If you want to do it right, and actually be able to tune your car, then ya need to investigate prom burning. It's alot easier then you think...

I have done all the above to my car with the exception of removing the EGR valve, and I have not had any computer problems (atleast what i can detect). I have had it like that for about the last year, so I say go right ahead and go for it, my only suggestion is to make sure you keep what you remove, cuz you never know if you might need it in the future.
