HELP my Car left me walking!!!

Driving down the street and it just died out of nowhere, then it won't restart. I can hear the fuel pump cyling, but only after you turn the ket to the start position, it doesn't prime like my TBI car does? But I still have ruled out bad pump because I do hear it. So I'm thinking it's an ignition issue. Well, wrong I guess too, because I pulled the number one plug wire and hooked up a plug to it. It sparks. Darn I felt sure it was just a bad module. So last resort tonight, I grounded the terminals on ALDL connector and I get a code 34. Uhmm, well this is a Mass Air car, bbut the book I have says it is a MAP code!!! Is my ECM fried here or what. What is a code 34 on an '88 5.7 tuned port Pontiac??? Car had to be towed, and it is sitting in my driveway out of commission. Please help guys.

Sometimes the fuel level guage sticks and makes it seem like you have gas in the tank. It happened to me once, and I doubt it'll ever happen again.

Good luck
