check engine light

When i just leave the car in overdrive it runs fine but whenever i put it in a lower gear the check engine light comes on.
Would anybody have an idea what could be wrong.

What error code(s) are you getting from the ECM?

The strange thing is vader it's not throwing any codes at all?
Not even the standard service engine soon code.Do you know anything it possibly could be or that i could check.

I'm not positive about the "down under" ECMs, but even though the connectors are supposedly different, I would presume you should still get a '12' when scanning. That doesn't sound good...
