Injector "dropping" fuel...think this could be the problem??

More time screwin around w/ the car trying to see why in the hell it'll randomly shake and backfire. It only happens when the car is under load too. Anyway, my dad was watching the injectors as i stood on the brake and kept it around 1500 rpm - - he said that the injectors were spraying like normal but there were also large drops of fuel coming from them too.....?!?!? Now I am thinking this could be the cause of my problem as the cylinders would be flooded w/ fuel, and the unburnt gas igniting in the exhaust causing the backfire

Now how can i check to see if its the injectors or something else that's screwing up. Should i get a certain reading if i hook a voltmeter up to the injector wiring harness, if so how many volts? I'd try new injectors but mine are fairly new (replaced w/ the 2500 mile old motor the previous owner put in) and i was quoted $79.99 a piece at Autozone for new ones. Also, the previous owner took out the MAT sensor when he put in the open element filter...could no sensor cause something like this?? Thanks for all the help.
