How much work to add A/C?
Hey,
I do not have A/C on my car and I am thinking of buying some parts for it from a junked camaro.
I have a basic idea about how to do it but I am worried about if I would need parts of the doner car's wiring warness to switch the A/C on.
Will there be a alot of work?
thanks:hail: :hail: :hail:

I've never tried this but I doubt it's easy.
The console controls will need to be changed, and the wiring harness is not the same. It will need wiring for the fast idle solenoid, compressor, and console. GM didn't put more wires in then they had to (save that $.25 per $12000 car)
Then you need the condensor, radiators, hoses, and accessory brackets.
Perhaps a vintage air system would be a better idea.

Trux,
I'm not sure what you would define as "alot of work", but to me it would be a lot of work.
You'll need to change the heater/AC case, both inside the vehicle and in the engine compartment. You'll need to add the compressor and brackets, change the belt drive, add a condenser, accumulator, install steel lines and hoses, install pressure switches and wiring, change the control head in the dash, add vacuum lines, add wiring, add to the ECM wiring and install a different PROM, change the dash panel, then evacuate and charge the system.
Other than that, there's nothing to it...
