Really wierd noise

I have an 86 Camaro, 305 Carb. Whnever I am at at a stop and try to take off I get noise coming from my passenger rear tire. It is not a wheel hop, but is sounds like the suspension or something is broke. If I stay on the gas after about four seconds it sounds like my tranny is hitting from side to side. If I take turns a little fast, like a left hand turn at 20 it sounds like my tranny is hitting again. I have looked at the rear suspension and at the tranny mount and it looks fine. I have looked at the motor mounts but I really don't know what I am looking for. If anyone knows what might cause this I would really like their help. Thanks

Tranny mount is broke. Relatively easy to fix. Cheap too. $20 bucks for an aftermarket polyurethane one, but some people complain that they transmit too much vibration to the interior of the car. Stock replacements are about $10 and break easy but are rubber and don't vibrate the cabin. All you need to do is get under the car, unbolt the old one, lift the tranny with a small jack or something, put new one in, bolt it to tranny, lower tranny, bolt to crossmember.

This happens to ALL thirdgens at one time or another. VERY common.
