Pushing your high mileage engine
Alright. Who here has a high mileage engine? Post your mileage, the mods that you've done to it regardless, how hard you push your car, 1/4 mi. times, etc.
My Formula has 182,000 miles. I drive it kinda hard but I want to kinda take it easy until it's rebuild or swap time. I haven't really done any mods to it as of right now because I just got my car.

350 car w/ 177K miles now...
Rebuilt trans
"Heavy duty torque converter"...think the guy put in a Vette TC
No cat
3" exhaust pipe
Accel 8.8 wires
cut out air box
no air filter right now
removed screens on MAF
Throttle body air foil
Accel intake and runners (big waste of money for a mod at this time)
ported plenum
AIR Pump and related emissions removed
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
carbon build up on pistons to raise my compression
A little racing gas
MSD Coil latest addition with no times yet. No SOTP feel though
8.9s in the 8th @ 77-78mph w/ 1.9's in 60 ft. Almost bald street tires
Driven hard constantly, but safely of course...otherwise why have the car.

143,600 (and a couple of tenths) when I did the mods in the sig. Some wear on bearings but still in spec. Timing chain was being replaced anyway. No sludge (23k on AMSOIL before teardown). Guides a little worn on the valves, but the heads were being replaced anyway. Oil pump a little weak, but it was being replaced anyway.
Now 146,800+, runs fine. Daily driver, plenty of on-ramp "test runs", occasional 1320' trips.

231,000 miles on a 2.8l V6... original motor, third trans. I ran a 16.87 in '96 with clogged filters, bad ignition (3 sets of plugs wires combined to make one), SES light getting thrown, car stalling out every now and then- you get the picture.
Now, with all my mods (every external bolt-on available for the 2.8), my quickest time has been a 17.2. That's with a new fuel pump, and a 3.73/posi/disc rear.
Who else thinks it's time for a rebuild?
I drive the car hard when I want to (in a good mood with an open road), other than that, I just chill out around town.
