Should oil be spraying everywhere when adjusting valve lash?
Im relashing my valves and when I did the drivers side, there was oil coming out of the rockers but it was just steadily seaping out of the rockers so relashing them was very clean and easy. I have the passanger side cover off now and when I started the car a very steady stream of oil is shooting out of the #2 cylinder valve closest to the from of the engine. The stream is shooting everywhere and my whole engine compartment is now covered in oil. Which is normal, a crazy stream of oil coming out or it just seeping out?
There shouldn't be any compression in there. Maybe you meant pressure? I guess compression causes higher pressure... It should seep out, splashing isn't out of the ordinary though. If it really squirts out on one part you may have a partial clog that causes the oil coming up to be forced through at a higher pressure.

miss adjusted valves (both too tight or loose) will oil excessively
Try to get that one adjusted closer and it should reduce the spray.. but.. you get smoked until you get it right. If all else fails, tighten it until the noise just stops, shut off the motor and then go an extra 1/4 turn.

Get adjusting caps to control the spray until you can get the rockers adjusted.

If the oil is just seeping out I would bet you have clogged oil passages in the pushrods or very low idle pressure, it should be squirting out pretty good, that's why they make the oil deflecting splash caps that five7kid mentioned, you just clip them on the rocker and they deflect the spray downward so it doesn't spray all over the place.
