Thermostat Installation Tips

Any hints on how to minimize spillage of coolant when installing a thermostat (without a coolant flush)? About how much will I lose? Thanks a lot

Have some rags ready to soak up what leaks out, cause some will go on the manifold area. I'd say you wouldn't lose enough to run out and buy more antifreeze, just fill it back up with water.

You won't lose very much. Like mark said just fill the radiator up with whatevers missing. Try opening the radiator cap when taking off the therm and don't do this while the engine is still hot .
