Need Horsepower!!!!!

I have an 83' Z28 Camaro, all stock. I cruise around town and its not slow but I need more horsepower. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm thinking about putting in a 350, shorty headers, cat-back, and a holley carb. But I don't want to spend a lot of $$$ to do this. I just want to have the fastest caar in my town. Because I have the only 3rd gen in my town. I want it to fly.

Fastest in town might be tough. There's a street legal Corvette that runs 9s around where I live.

I'd say buy a ZZ4 motor, aluminum heads, like 385HP or so and with headers, cat-back, the right gears, and a TC if an auto, will definately keep you among the fastest.

You'll have to do some suspension work in order to hook up.
One thing I've learned is that in order to be the fastest you have to spend the money.
What are emissions like where you live??

i don't know about fastest in town, but bolting on a 144 blower would help. it's never worth trying to be the fastest unless your packing alot of money. you could also use gm's zz4 conversion kit. what's in it now?
