Cold air induction for a TBI.

Well I live in Texas and it gets hot here. The open element that I'm using is going to suck up alot of heat from that engine real soon here. So I was thinking if anyone has seen something like this. The only flaw is that I will be narrowing the air flow but the good part is that I will putting cold air in there instead of hot. So I guess what I need to ask is that which one carries more weight?

Higher flow of hot air Vs. Narrowed flow of cold air.

>keeping in mind the temp outside will be a little over 100 degrees.

I think you could mix the 2 options. Have an open element air cleaner (more airflow) and use some air scoops to host some relatively colder air into the engine.

Nah, i'm still running open element only in my car, which I chalk up due to absolute laziness. I've got engine pics in my house @ Richmond, but won't be there for a few weekends, I'll talk to my brother and get them online in a few days.

I am not absolutely positive, but I have heard that an L69 dual snorkel setup would or could be made to fit the TBI.
