Longshot Question- TES headers and an S-10
Longshot Question- TES headers and an S-10
I know that no one would know definatively, but would Edelbrock TES headers (3 inch, single cat) fit in a Blazer/S10, or Jimmy/S15?
I am going to buy headers for my Camaro soon and am sorting out my options. My 406 on the engine stand will be in in a while, but I still want to bolt up my ported irons to the 305 in the mean time. What does this have to do with an S-truck? Well, I am going to buy one soon and the 305 is going straight into it. Call me cheap, but the 406 is going in with SLPs, and I dont want to buy 2 headers for 1 car.
I know that it wont bolt up perfectly, and it will need a custom exhaust, but will they actually, physically fit?
Thanks in advance...!

The headers might hit the steering arm on the S10 truck. You'll just have to try it & see. Thats the major issue with headers on the V8 s10. Most aftermarket headers loop around the steering shaft.

Seriously doubt it.
The dual cat TES in a g-body are right on the control arm (upper, PS), and the pipes have to be turned in order to not head into the frame, but can be made to fit; the S10 is very similar to the G-body but I doubt your motor will have more setback.
The 1 & 3/4 dual cat SLP's don't fit the g-body because of the #4 primary not even coming close to clearing the PS upper a-arm. I think they'd work, if not for that; I bought some, test fit them, then sold them to a friend w/ a '91 F-body.
Hooker makes swap headers. I am loving Hookers 2050's in my Monte so check their products out.

There's precious little space there, and it's just as bad on the right side in a truck with air. I'm planning to keep the air in my '96e, and am seriously thinking about ported ramhorns or ported LT1 iron manifolds. SLPs certainly won't fit. Short of assembling your own, I haven't found a boxed header on the market for a V-8 S-truck with all the options intact.
Even the SlickFit headers reportedly have "issues" in the S-truck frame and with the steering arm. The gain from headers may not be worth the trouble in my case.
