what's wrong with my car.

I took my car to the dragstrip Fri for the first time. hears the numbers as they appear on the time slip (they only gave me 1/2 a time slip and it dosen't have the catagores)
1.462(r/t I think - yeh I was sleeping at the light)
2.267(60 ft I think)
6.423(???)
9.807(???)
72.14(???)
12.715(???)
15.149(final time I think)
90.62(final speed I think)

now what am I doing wrong? with all I'v done to my engine I should be getting allot better times and speeds than this, I mean a stock 91 GTA 5.7 runs 14.92 @91.4 mph according to hot rod magizine and my engine has allot more power than that. thanks in advance for any replys

Looks like you spun off the line?? Am I right? With traction you'll be in the 14s.

Actually that is a good R/T, by no means is that sleeping.

The 60ft needs to be better, 2.6 probably means you were spinning off the line, probably even past the 60ft marker, like Mark said.

Yeah I'm running a little faster than that, without nearly the mods you have.

Its hard to diagnose anything else with just a time slip.

I know who is sleeping :P A good r/t is almost a full second less than that. The sixty foot isn't very good either, but something else is wrong.

I did get allot of tire spin (I have 15x7 with 215/65R15 tires and they are firestone firehawks) but my MPH sould be allot higher this was done at the Las Vegas dragstrip where the police are running an open night with no tech inspections and anyone can run (some idiot han a mazda MPV minivan ) and the track was real cold. I was thinking that my air cleaner was a big restricion 'cause ihe lid is only about 1/2 from the throttel mouth (edelbrock drop base with 2" element) I just ordered one of those new lids from K&N that have filter element in the lid. about mid mounth I am going to have exaust cut-outs put in right behind the hedders so maybe that will make a diffrence, I hope.

Man you might want to look into the correction factor for that track. Las vagas is at like 5000 ft of altitude i think. I watched an import vs muscle car shoot out there once on vacation and couldn't figure out why the 4th gen camaro guys were havin a hard time gettin into the 13's. Man are the imports there sad almost as bad as the ones back home.
If my gustimate of the elevation is correct you ran a corrected 14.2 at 96.6. Thats at 5000 feet of altitude. I say you'll be deep into the 13's (corrected) once you get your traction situation figured out.
I ran a 15.2 my first time out and had traction problems and also didn't have a good handle on my timing and fuel yet. I have ran a 14.4 since then and i think i have it tuned real close to 13's now. Its all in the tune and traction.

I diden't even think of altitude the airbace is 3124 ft above sea level and when our aircraft take off from 03L or 03R they end up buzzing the racetrack so it has to be close to our altitude, but do you think that would make that much diffrence?

it will make a pretty big diference. I'll try to find the site that has the conversion factors on it for you. I know for a fact that the magazines use the conversion factors.

Oh yeah, at that altitude you're lookin at mid 14s I would say just with altitude correction.
