I took my car to the shop the other day to have them fix the problems I've been having getting it to turn over and idling low. I thought this would just be a timing problem, but I talked to them today and they said they're still stumped about what's wrong. Apparently when they hooked it up to the computer it's not saying anything.

Soooo, if it is the computer would I be able to find one of these myself? There's one on eBay currently running for 99 cents. It's off a 2.8L carburated 4 speed. I have a 2.8L EFI 5 speed. Would this work, or no?

maybe the ecm would but not the prom. you don't get the ses light? maybe a bad ground? well i'm sure the guys at the garage are a lot smarter than i am. good luck

 

I just found it is definitely the computer. So my question still stands... can I just get any computer for a third gen, or are they specific to engine size, transmission, fuel system, and all that other business?
