Camaro/Mustang Comparison..Who's Qucker Question Within
Okay so who really is faster the fox bodie Mustangs or the Third Gen Camaro's? What are the stock number for the Mustang (their fastest) and what are the stock numbers for the fastest production made Third gen? Is it possible for a 1991 Z28 350 or a 1991 or other third gen with a 5-speed 305 beat a Mustang in a head to head stock car battle?
Most often the Fords were quicker. I had a stock 85' 305 that was as quick or quicker than most 80's mustangs. There are so many variables.
A notch back 5 speed lx would wax just about every 3rd gen. An auto covertible gt would take a beating by a alot of 3rd gens.
Now that these cars are getting older and are in various stages of tune wear etc. It is impossible to tell.

Only some 350s were faster and the G92 option on a 305 might take a couple.
For the most part any 5.0 with a 5 spd would be running 14.6 or so in the 1/4 stock for an LX. I've seen a worst 15.5 from a stock '93 or so Auto but the guy couldn't drive worth crap. The stangs with the AOD tranny were slower than the 5 spds. And obviously the verts were among the slowest.
Still wish I had my first stang or a chance to get a notchback 5.0 those things are quick stock.
