Dual Pusher Fans PICS INSIDE
Well I put a couple of pusher fans on the front side of the radiator. It wasn't cheap at all! For another 40 or 50 bucks I could've purchase a Griffin radiator...but they do seem to work pretty darn tootin' well.
I have a 12 and a 14 inch fan up front now. Each on an individual switch. When I turn all 3 fans on, it doesn't seem to get above the thermostat level, even at idle for a long, long, long time. I tried. Now it has been unseasonably cool and that may help, but so far I'm pretty happy with them.
This is a picture of the 14" fan. This was quite a squeeze to get both of them in there! MAN OH MAN!!!!

madmax I notice you still have your crossbars in there.
Impressive. Mine wouldnt fit.

You should get some of that fancy sliced wire cover... it's pretty expensive for being plastic but it actually does make everything look better. I ran my primary cooling fan to a toggle because the stock wiring was FUBAR and that black cover just made my day..
Couple=a=questions... what'd the whole set up run ya? Where'd you house the relays, and about how long to complete... Now that you're done do you think a new radiator would've been a better investment?

Man I always heard the pusher fan setup was a waste of time. Exactly how much cooler is it getting? I think I might bite the bullet and do this setup, this thing needs to run a little cooler for these upcomig sweltering heat months here in Texas.

I too am running dual pusher fans, I also have dual IROC fans too so that makes Quad fans!
The puchers are all I use unless it's very hot outside, I use them for two reasons over the IROC fans. First they use less power so I don't overtak the alternator and second they are controlled by my computer so it's totally automatic. I will soon re-wire the whole system AGAIN to incorporate the IROC fans into automatic operation too.
The pushers are not a waste of time. They cool the condenser so my AC blows cooler too!

I live in southern Arizona where it's normally about 95* this time of the year...but it's been cooler than normal this spring. So my temperatures will probably NOT be as good as they are now, but there is still a sizeable difference.
I am running about 20 cooler on the highway and 40 degrees cooler on the interstate.
Let's see, the 14 inch fan was about $100 and the 12 inch fan was about $80.00. Then switches, relays, wires and so on....a Griffin radiator would've been about the same!
But they do seem to do the job!

Actually I've purchased the relays, but just wanted to get everything wired up...I didn't have much time. I'll put the relays behind the driver's side headlight, or maybe along the firewall.
Then I'll buy some of that plastic wire cover stuff and run the wires inside of that. I've used it in other parts of the engine compartment and it looks much better than having bare wires around.
The job, minus relays took me about an hour, if that. One thing, I did have to take my hacksaw and cut a little notch, maybe 1/4" x 1/4" in the little bracket that goes from the bottom of the radiator and houses the hood release. If I had 2 12" fans I would NOT have had to do that.

20 to 40 degrees cooler, I could use that. I never overheat, but I dont like seeing the temp. gauge rise to about 210* when I'm in traffic. This is with no A/C equip what so ever, fan on constantly, 160* thermo., new rad., new water pump, timing right, and everything else. Its actually good on the interstate, about 160*, but I just dont like the traffic temps. I think I'll go with the dual pusher fans on a switch, that should help out alot.
Thanks.
Thanks.
