Crane Hi-6 Ignition Opinions

hey guys. I found a SUPER deal on a used Crane Hi-6 igintion. Used meaning it's new in the box but the guy never used it. I just want some opinions of it in comparision to an MSD 6AL. Is the rev limiter accurate? Any other info is greatly appreciated.

I like mine alot. The rev limiter is very accurate and sooooo easy to set. No modules to loose, just set the dial. It seems to be build very well. No gripes.

Only thing i'm not sure about now is if the unit is compatibale with a magnetic pulse dist. I believe my dist. is pre-81 and i'm not sure of the part number of the unit. Guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Thanks for the input regarding the rev limiter, that's pretty much all i want it for

I read a Car Craft review where they tested all the units , Accel , MSD , Mallory , Jacobs , Crane . They all came out with the same results .

I just installed mine about 2 months ago. It comes with drawings ti install it with about any distributor on the market, from points to a new msd distributor. It even had diagram for the mallory unilte, that I am running, I like it alot, get the PS92 race coil, It is one hot spark. When I first started the car I didn't notice one of the sparke plug wires had pulled loose from the cap, I watched the spark jump about an inch to the wire, And that plug never misfired. While it was running.
