Timing help
I just took my distributor out to replace the pick-up coil . I marked everything , but could not get the rotor to line up where it was suppose to be . It wont start now , is it possible the timing is so off that it wont start ? Do I just need to twist the distributor some until I can get it to start ?
yea it is posible, but i think it would maybe at least sputter or backfire?..just make sure it is in right.. if you dont know how yto pout it in the right spot--just line up your number one cylinder at top dead center on the compression stroke and line up your rotor as close as you can to the number one cylinder.
normally when you take the dist. out, you have to put it back in and out of the oil pump to rotate the rotor back to where its supposed to be,(you'll have to put it in and out kinda play with it until the rotor lines up again).. also make sure you hooked up your dist. wiring, coil, ect..
good luck.
