starting motor up for the first time
starting motor up for the first time
whats up guys. before i start this motor up i need to know to what point i should tighten these roller tip rockers to? the heads,cam,lifters.and rockers have 0 seconds on them, should i tighten them up al the way to the point were i can turn the pushrods? or do what? id like to get it started tonite.

prime the oiling system and the adjust all rockers to have .030" preload
Thats depressing the plugger in the hydraulic lifter about the distance of a plug gap. Comp uses this as their preload spec.
Make sure you do it cyl by cyl. Rotate the motor around by hand to get the cam lobe on the base circle. Pull a few plugs out to help turn it over.
