Help with distributor shaft removal

I'm trying to replace my coil pickup and I already took the roll pin out of the drive gear and taken the retaining clip off the bobbin, but the shaft slides freely about halfway up and then stops. Is there anything that I still have to do, or is it just sticking? Thanks for any help.

File off the burr on the shaft from where it has been driving the oil pump rod
