got the motor running and running great!!! but.. my speedo doesnt work.. i dont have my computer anymore so i figure that the speedo must have been run my the computer?? so how can i make it work or get one to work?? thanks

I was told many times that the computer doesnt' receve a signal from the computer but it does from the vss. However if you look in the haines or chiltions manuel you willl see that the spedo wire comes directly from the computer. I am running a th350 with mine and going to change to a autometer gauge and a cable driven spedo.

I think you can use the dakota (spelling) digital box and run the speedo wire from the vss to that and from the box to the speedo.

Have you noticed anything else in the car that doesnt' work now that you have taken the computer out? I am very curious to know.

 

basically everything works that i want to work.. the lights my radio i dont have a heater or a/c so i couldnt tell u bout the but i have an auto meter temp and oil pressure gauge also a auto meter tach so basically everything on the dash isnt hooked up lol.. but it would be nice to have a speedo but i am eventually going to re do my dash and have all auto meter gauges in there when i do that i am going to buy a cable driven speedo.. hwo hard are they to hook up?? they hook to the tranny right?
also someone said that my ses light would be on but it hasnt come on yet and it did work before the swap so i really havent had to many problems i took basically 10 miles of wire out of the car lol.. but the alt. charges the lights pop up the dash lights work the car runs!!

 

I have never transormed a car from cable to vss I had a friend that had to do it and he said it was very easy.

I have bought a new dash were the gauges are and I am going to cut it up and put in my autometer 5" speedo and tach. I am also cutting hole between the two holes from were the temp/fuel and the oil/amp ones are and installing a plate were my other gauges are going to be housed.

Sweet I know I will have to direct wire the starter and disable the vats. But other then that I don't think there is anything else that I have to take out.
