I have an antifreeze puddle in the passenger side of my car right under the heater core. I guess that menas the core is bad huh? I know it is a PITA . anyobdy have any tips on making it easier? whats anew heater core cost? i just got done putting my interior with a new carpet back back in too. SOB!!
I have read the tech. article on doing this already but still want to know what you guys have to say about it that have done it

On my car, I only had to remove the black panel under the passenger side dash.
Helpful tips, put a some towels or something on the floorboard, as coolant will still leak out.
Take the core out and take it to the auto place and make sure the pipes are matched perfectly. I took mine to Trak Auto and the one that they said was the one I needed didn't work, the pipes were at a slightly different angle, tried to bend them a little not to break them, but didn't work. Went back and that was still the one they said I needed. So I went to a local auto store and got the one I needed.

Mine was a pain... but you pretty much dive in and do it. If you have an air compressor, you could hook it up to the core, and try to "blow out" any antifreeze left in the system.
I actually didn't replace mine; I took it out, and put it back in. (The body shop needed to do welding in that area, and wanted everything out.) I should've borrowed the $30 off a friend and put a new core in. I plan to do the core "again" this summer- with a brand new one, just in case.

Ok, I changed the core today. it wasnt as bad as people say it is. the hardest part was getting the top bolt off and on again. thanks for the tips.Oh ya, my back didnt like em very much after I was done.
