crossed injector wires
crossed injector wires
i just took my 89 T/A on a test drive and it felt SUUUPER SLUGGISH! i just recently completed a rebuild and noticed that the 5 and 7 injector wires seem to be crossed. what effect would crossed injector wires have on a cars performance? could this be the cause of the sluggishness??
Absolutely no difference. The injectors are batch-fired, which means that all four injectors in either bank are "fired" at the same instant, and twice per cycle (once for each engine revolution). All four injectors on a given side are wired in parallel, so the connections really don't matter unles you were to somehow switch the connectors from teh left to right bank (should be impossible with factory wiring).
An engine with SFI operates differently, in that each injector is operated in sequence with the firing order, so the connections are important on those later engines. SFI didn't appear on SBC engines until the LT1 was offered.
