If it's a 350 it might be iffy, without headers the engine will choke.

I think it might squeeze into the 13's. The L98 heads definitely being the weakspot.

Okay, just to see the difference between TPI and Carbs looking at my sig what is a hypothetical run for me? With the stock 2.73's and with the future 3.23's

If you put the headers on you'll be in the 13's if it's a 350. A free flowing exhaust is what you're gonna need. Just remember if you can't S H I T you can't eat.

I HOPE that setup would at least pull a high 13. If a L98 car runs low 14's stock and you are changing the cam, porting the intake and changing heads, adding headers, and gear...I hope theres at least a half second.

Just be careful when running L98 vette heads. If you are talking about aluminum 58cc heads you might run into serious knock retard problems. You'll need custom programming.

if that setup doesnt get into the 13's there is something wrong.

I have a bone stock(yes bone stock, never lifted the vavle covers) L98 with chip(Stage 2 Fastchip),headers(cheap flowtechs) into SLP exhaust some suspension stuff and a little homemade cold air intake on DR's and ran a 13.89@99. He's talking about a cam, intake work and injectors, of course headers would be a HUGE upgrade along with that other stuff but there is no reason why he shouldn't hit the 13's

hey fly89gta..just curious how much did the TTA conversion end up running you. I still have a 200-r4 lying around for when I was considering transplanting a 3.8 GN motor into the IROC. I'm still kinda tossing the idea around.

Cobra, i spend 2K on the motor for ALMOST everything, i just needed little things here and there(intake gasket, pcv valve, a few special bolts and stuff). With everything complete and in the car and running it was around $2500.

not bad considering i don't need anything else, rebuilt 2-3K miles ago...search www.turbobuick.com for engines, i've seen em go as cheap as 1800 bucks(86-87 intercooled motors, damn near complete) which is a hell of a deal.

As for the swap its not hard...not any harder than a V8 to V8 swap...that only thing you have to swap out is the motor mounts that bolt to the x-memeber(but the x-memeber already has the bolt holes on it

I frequent turbobuick.com and try and pick up as much info as possible. Did you use a buick 3.8? or a Motor from a TTA? Cause I believe they have different heads. And did you just bolt it up to your 700r4? Any help is appreciated..thanks

its a true TTA motor from a wrecked TTA. I'm using the 700r4 for now with TCI's adapter plate, that is until i gather all the parts for a 2004r swap(torque arm,x-member, driveshaft, then a bullet proof 200)

like i said it was a pretty straight forward swap, i will say this though when u buy a motor make sure its complete, some parts are getting hard to find, especially the TTA specific stuff. As for you, do u want AC? if not i wouldn't bother swapping out the heads and pistons, too much trouble, if u want the AC well then i guess you're gonna have to

Stop paying all your attention to the front end of the driveline and start looking at the business end. You'll need decent traction to get a good hookup. New87 picked up several tenths with drag radials and some attention to the suspension, and that's on a 305 car.

Stiffen up the lower control arms and track bar, brace rod, and brackets. Adjustable or drag shocks might also help with traction at the rear axle.

Hook up well, and you should have the power for 13's. If you're doing about 80 when your halfway to the traps, you'll beat the 13 second clock.
