Fan Relay Problem Still
I just replaced the fan relay by the master cylinder on the fire wall. I had to use a butt connector to fix the 16ga. red wire that is power. It burnt through. I started the car ,and when the fan kicked on the red wire started smoking ,and melted the butt connector. I shut the car off. I dont understand what the problem is. Is this the primary fan relay? Could there be to much voltage running through the red wire? I previously removed the AC. Would this cause the problem? Help

Are you sure that's a 16 ga. wire? Stock wiring, or something someone else along the way put in? 16 ga. isn't heavy enough to carry that current on the fan motor...

I,m not sure on the gauge. It is probable 12ga. It is a heavy wire.
The wiring is all stock. Would the fan motor cause this problem? Is there a kit I can buy to re-terminate the wire. It is burnt threw. I tried a butt connector to re- attach to the connector that plugs in the relay. As soon as the fan kicks on it melts the butt connector. I plan on driving the car starting Monday. Need help.

You need to find what is sinking all that current. Look for a bare wire contacting somewhere. The fan motor could be starting to go as well. Just putting more connectors on there will just melt connectors until you find the root of the problem.
