Im about to do some major mods to my car...either vortec heads, intake, lt1 cam, edelbrock carb, and distributer...should i go with vortec heads? (keep in mind 64cc compared to 58cc of 305 heads this will eventually be on a 350 but i dont know when yet) i was thinking either vortec heads or SR torquer 305 heads (58cc...same valve size as vortecs) what intake should i do with? ill probably be running a lt1 cam since i can find one pretty cheap...cant really afford a 300$ roller cam right now. what intake should i do with? performer or performer RPM? i have the stock TC and 2.73 gears. a posi 3.42 rear is going in a couple months. i dont know about the TC yet eventually im sure but may be awhile. i want to get this car at least outrunning a 5.0 mustang for less than 1300$ (getting in a few weeks). my current mods are in my sig

 

Just buy NOS. Not to **** you off but I wouldn't waist money on the 305 when you're going to put in a 350.... believe me I know, I started out with a 305.

 

Get anything that will also work on the 350... Vortec heads are always a good buy. 'Course, I'd just work on getting the 350 sooner, but that's me.

 

plan is to stick this **** on a 350 when i can get the money and the knowledge to swap motors. i was thinking maybe vortecs then when the motor goes get a 350 or maybe even before the end of summer im not sure yet.

 

oh yeah im talking to a guy i know whos brother has a l98 from a totalled iroc i may look into getting...500$ for the l98 and 700r4...if i can get that deal then yeah ill go ahead and work on a 350. may sell the TPI off the motor i dont know if i want to mess with the computer **** again and im sure the wiring is fun. maybe l98 block with vortec heads and intake
