Are Harland Sharp and Proform the same alum. roller rockers? I can't see a difference in the photos - Jegs.

Proform in the blue and Harland Sharp is the other.

i think harland sharp developed the roller rocker. i've got a set with no problems.i don't know who makes proform stuff but they seem to copy other manufacturers cheaper. quality?

If I was to make an uninformed guess, I would say Proform doesn't 'make' anything. Like Sears doesn't 'make' Craftsman. My Craftsman welder is a Century welder painted black instead of red, stickered and packaged Craftsman. If these pictures tell the true about the actual rockers, then I would think these Proform rockers are Harland Sharps that are painted and packaged differently. Why would they be so similar and not be the exact same thing? Why would Craftsman make a welder, and other items, to be an exact replica rather than just contract to buy from proven manufacturers?
Has anyone had their hands on both the Proform and Harland Sharp?

I have the proforms and seem just as good as any others I've used. Cheaper also.

Same here, proform 1.6 RR ~$140?, I have about 5-6K miles on them, no problems at all, just took a look at them today with the valve covers off. This is on a 105,xxx 305 engine that gets beat on a regular basis 5000+ rpm.

When I was getting the parts together for my mods, I talked to Competition Products about the Proforms. In particular, I noticed words like "stock lift" and "one year warranty against breakage only" in their catalog description. I asked what all that meant (they already knew what cam I was considering and the upgraded springs required), and told me I would be better off with the stamped roller tips that I ended up getting, unless I was willing to spend a good bit more than the Proforms would cost.

I'm sure they had to consider the effect of a lost sale before giving me the advice they did give, but I appreciate their honesty.

Oh, they recommended Harland Sharp if I wanted to spend the money for full rollers.

I had a set of harlands on a 406 years ago and they were about 10 years old and a few of 'em developed flat spots on the rollers. Called harland sharp and they replaced em with new ones at no cost. Don't know if they still have a lifetime warranty though.

Found a phone number to get some tech info on the Proform rockers. Called them and asked if there was a rating on what the rockers could handle. The gentleman looked it up and said they are safe to 350-400 pounds of spring pressure and the HD are good to 750 pounds.

if looking into higher ratio rockers... the Harland Sharp 1.65 actually check 1.7-1.72, something to keep in mind

I think you would be much better off to save a few more dollars and go for the Comp Cams all steel roller rockers. They are even rebuildable and are ALL steel--no alluminum to wear out or crack.

proforms don't have lifetime warranties like HSs do.. and I have broken a proform..
