well as i got the motor in the car, with 30 miles on it, everything is broken in. i floor it, the motor sounds like it has a rev limiter but it dont, i duno how else to describe it. timing is rite and all.just when ever i floor it ,it gets stuck and dont want to go no were. the plug wires are a little oilly,i duno if that would effect it. could this be a bad carburator? its a 650 DP holly, im bout to give up on this

Gonna need to tell us a little more about your car/motor. Sounds like the motor isn't getting enough gas.....you still using the stock fuel pump?

515\515 lift, 300\300 dur. victor jr intake. 650 dp holly. after market fuel pump.looks like a summit fuel pump. 2.02\1.60 heads.67 cc,1.6 roller tip rockers. new lifters, and rest of the motor is just rebuilt, do u think that the timing would be to much advanced or retarted?

Check your fuel pressure if you can

I had a (Edelbrock Victor w/bottom feed), and I could not get the pump from leaking (Pressure even checked out OK?). I put in a Holley VolumeMax 170gph yesterday, and - oh my- I picked up 100HP, and I can now go over 5000RPM's. It used to stumble when I first started it up, and blipped the gas. After the Holley no more stumbles.

Run your hand along all the fitting, bottom of the pump and smell for gas. Double check you have proper pressure at the carb. To little or to much will kill it. The only thing I can assume is that with a leaky pump it's sucking up air, which was killing me.

I hope it turns out to be something simple like this.
Good Luck,

Ron

well i got new accel plugs today, still wont go no were\sputtering when i floor it,but when i floor the gas pedal at a certain point ,the car moves, im coming to think that this could be my carb since its dirty from backfiring with the dis. 180* of the week before. the fuel pump seams fine, i dont feel no air suction, everything looks good.i might have to change the sending line hose since it is a little short and has a little bend in it goin into the fuel pump. if this still does the same problem im givin the car away
