How can I make this work...
Hey guys. I got some Chrome Valve Covers as a gift, i'm trying to get them on my '85 Trans Am LG4. Well, the hole on each valve cover is too big for the PCV and for the exhaust line that runs up to the air cleaner. What's my best bet: Get a bigger exhaust line to the air cleaner and a bigger PCV, get a different set of valve covers, or use the chrome breather that came with the dress up kit on one side, and figure something else out on the other side?
Aside from emissions, what is the purpose of the PCV & the line to the air cleaner? If i take them off, will i simply gain power and pollute more, or is there some higher meaning i'm not aware of?
Thanks,

the pcv (positive crankcase ventilation) valve relieves built up pressure and yes you need it. they sell grommets at parts stores, you can match one up to the covers/pcv you're using and you can use the chrome breather on the other side and buy a chrome oil fill plug
