Where to get body parts -- VERY IMPORTANT
Where to get body parts -- VERY IMPORTANT
Ok, I have an 84 trans am.
Looks like GM has discontinued all replacement body panels (fenders, quarter panels, hoods, groundFX, etc)
for 84 anyway. 85 is still available.
My question is, are they interchangable, I think they are not, but im hoping they are =\
I need to replace all my GroundFX and both driver and passanger fenders

Did you happen to check with any of our board sponsors? That IS their business....

I'll bet they can at least answer the interchangability questions.

Where to get body parts ??
The morgue.. mu hwa h a haaa.
I'm just kidding. The sponsors up there would be a good source, especially if they're new parts. But personally, I don't like dealing with used parts if I can't inspect them personally before paying for them.
I got a brand new a/m fender through a body shop once. It never did fit quite right or look right. Eventually I replaced it with one off of some junked car (got it through the same body shop) and it lined up beautifully, even though it was red before. That sucks, but sometimes you have to deal with that. Anyway, what I'm getting at through the rambling is that the OEM parts are a much better fit than the aftermarket stuff, so a lucky score at an auto recycler is a good bet. If not look for OER stuff from something like Classic Industries.
