Ok so I drove my car for the first time in a year now. First time with the new engine and everything else in it too. I only went up and down my street...about a half mile total. It started right up fine and went into drive fine in my driveway. Went to the top of the street and turned in the circle. Went all the way down and pulled into a driveway.....after reversing out of the driveway and putting it into drive it stalled. Each time I started it back up and put it in drive it died. Finally I started it in neutral and brought it to like 1500 before putting it in drive and I got it rolling again.

I can only think of 2 factors here but I don't know. First of all the car only has about a gallon and a half or two gallons of gas in it, but I don't think this would have made a difference.
Second maybe the idle is too low? It's at about 750-800 in Park and 500-550 in Over Drive. The cam isn't too wild and the rest of the engine specs are in my signature. Do you think I should turn it up some more?? And if so, how come it only happened when I backed out of the driveway and none of the times I went from Park to Over Drive??

 

If your car was sitting for a year than I would drian the gas tank and fill it up with new gas, I got bad gas in my car recently and my car wouln't run at all. New gas problem solved.

 

This is new gas. The tank was empty for a year and all of the fuel lines were removed from the car for a few months. They were all cleaned and reinstalled.
