My car won't start. (What else is new?)
Just put on 1.6RR. Had the motor and trans out for other things. Put the top end on the motor. Put the 6spd in. Put the motor in. It started and ran rough a couple of times then cut off.
It ran out of gas
Got gas now. The thing idled at 600 before it ran out of gas. After I put more gas in it didn't start. It'll crank all day like nobodies business. I thought the dist. was a tooth off so I screwed w/ that. No luck. I'm getting spark. Getting fuel. The rocker are still a little loose. I wanted to adj. them w/ the motor running.
I got no clue why thing won't start. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me. How are you sure you're getting fuel? Right now I'd say fuel pump/relay or your ignition control module, possibly your ecm. Do you have the firing order correct? Is your distributor cap on tight?

Dist. is on tight. Fire order was tripple checked, the ign. modual maybe a prob. I can hear the pump prime and feel pressure in the lines. I also can get fuel out of the test port.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm taking off work tomarrow to devote some serrious time to her.

If you have spark and fuel it has to be a timing issue. Just to make sure, try some starting fluid. If that doesn't help, recheck the timing. Make sure the fuel filter is new since you ran the tank dry.
