lower pressure sending unit, again...

Will the fuel pump on an efi setup still turn on wihtout this sending unit by the filter? I cant get it to fit on my crate engine, even though i rethreaded it, and promptly striped it on install, to 7/16 x 14 (had one of these bolts and it fit right in). I hear this is just a back up to trigger the fpr in case of ecm failure.

You can live without the auxilliary oil pressure switch. It is just a redundant path for power to the fuel pump in case of relay/ECM failure.
