new starter

new starter


Does anyone know where the wires go on the new starter? I know where the ground goes. But there are 2 more red wires. ONe of them has a small hole, the other has a big one. oes anyone know where these two go? Thnx

Well...I don't think that there's a ground on the starter. I beleive that it just grounds to the block. On mine all the wires with the big eyelet goto the big stud. The big line comes directly from the battery and the others are fusible links. The one with the small eyelet goes to the small stud which is on the solenoid. This one is only positive when the key is turned, to get the starter going.

so both the black and red wires with the big loops go on the same thing

Hmmm. I don't think that I had any black wires.

i just did mine on my 83(specs in sig) and all the wires with the big hole go on the big stud and the little hole goes on the little stud........sounds elementary but thats how easy it was on mine.......and it works so i assume i did it right........lol.........pointer........pay attention to how it was b4 removing it next time........just a hint....lol

Exactly.....

The little black wire goes to the post and all the rest go to the Big Post.
