coolant question (thermostat)
coolant question (thermostat)
i've been running very hot lately, and decided to see if maybe the thermostat was at fault - i didn't have another one handy, and i'd heard alot of people talk about not using one at all in the summer time, so i removed mine (was 180* btw) and now after i crank the car up and drive it for about 3 minutes, the service engine soon light comes up, and it's code 14, which i think is hot coolant level at sensor, but this happened the first time i cranked the car up this morning, before it could have really gotten hot... everytime i crank the car up, it comes on in about 2-3mins.
is this just a fault error b/c i have no thermostat in? would i be better off with a cooler thermo with holes drilled instead?
(yesterday with my 180*, i ran about 250* all the way to work, would only drop to 230ish at redlights)

Usually with CC cars, running lower than a 180* stat will cause computer problems I believe. I would go back with a 180*, and find out what you're problem is.
