255's on my rear wheels?

Can I fit 255/50 R16's on my rear wheels. Will they fit. If so, what is the biggest I can out on my stock 16X8 wheels? Could I get 265's or 275's on there? Thanks guys. later.

I'm running 245's all the way around. I have read some guys running 255's and they don't seem to have a problem.

My brother has 265/50/15 tires on his 7" rims and it is fine, i would think that 275/40/16 tires would be fine also, you could also run 275/50, or 265/50 on the rearrear with out a problem.

Thanks guys. I am going to check with discount to see if 265/45's will fit. If not. I found some Kuhmo Ecsta's or something that are real cheap and look cool. They are like $88 and they are 255/50/R16. Have something like a "V" rating, which is fast enough for e. (I know how fast the V rating is) So they are good tires, plan on checking them out, like minday. later guys, and thanks,

I put 255's on the rear of mine and they rub, but they only rub when cornering at high speed. A few other people have had the same problem, one guy suggested denting in the place where they rub with a sledge hammer or something, but I'm against unnecessary damage. just stick with 245's in my opinion.

I put 255/70r15's on my car (larger than the ones you want), and had to use a sledge on the inner rear wheelwell, at the front bottom of the wheelwell. The rim size was 15x7, then I moved to 15x8.

Now I'm running P275/60r15's back there, and didn't have to do any extra modification.

i just put a set of 255's on of the Kuhmo supra 112's, those are really nice and fit great. i bet in the back you could go to 275/50/16 if you try, but not that wide in the front. 255's might be a problem in the front, but maybe not. the supra's are great tires, i love them and the price is excellent!

trans am 87.... you have them all the way around? Also, I have an update... Tirerack wants $88 for the Kuhmo 255/50R16's. And usually tirerack and discount are pretty darn close. So I call discount and ask them their price.... $122 not installed. I bought my G-forces for that much and they rock! So I might have to bump down and pay shipping for tire rack? dunno, any other way to do it??? Later guys,
