Guideplate question

I have a set of zz3 heads with guideplates and I plan on running a LT4 hot cam. Can I remove the guideplates and just buy the kit that comes with self aligning rockers instead of buying separate pieces and non-self aligning rockers. What are reasons to run guideplates or not run them? Thanks

I'd just use the GP's and hardened pushrods, probably be about the same cost as SA rockers....but would/should offer better stability at higher RPM's.

Most people seem to prefer non SA rockers. If I were you I'd keep the guide plates and go with the non SA set-up. Just my .02

GM uses self-aligning rockers because it's cheaper than having to mill, drill and tap the heads and install guide plates, but they do work good for most applications.
